What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational Therapy helps work on meaningful activities of daily living. For a child, this can be things such as brushing teeth, buttoning buttons, or handwriting. Occupational therapists are also trained to work on motor, cognitive, sensory processing, communication, and play skills. This can range from feeding therapy to cutting paper or tying shoes to sensory integration therapy. If your child has difficulty tolerating sensory input or difficulty keeping up with peers in the classroom, occupational therapy may be right for them.
How does Occupational Therapy benefit my child?
Pediatric Occupational Therapy help children succeed by working on things such as attention deficits, fine motor skill deficits including dressing or caring for themselves and handwriting issues, visual issues and social challenges.
